Sara has been honored with the Innovation Fellows award from the Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Lilie). Congratulations to Sara!

In partnership with the Rice Office of Innovation, the Liu Idea Lab of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Innovation Fellows Cohort is tailored to empower Ph.D. students and postdocs to bridge the gap between academic research and practical applications. By offering mentorship, funding opportunities, and access to industry experts, the program equips participants with the tools and knowledge needed to transform their innovative research into tangible solutions that address pressing real-world challenges.

The interdisciplinary team will focus on multiferroics, materials with distinctive electric and magnetic properties that carry transformative technological potential. Specifically, the researchers will seek to leverage the spin and charge of electrons in multiferroics in order to process and store information. Han Lab will perform advanced, atomic-level imaging to help improve and debug the material.

Han lab will use recent electron microscopy approaches to observe the deformation mechanisms of 2D materials.

Dr. Han is invited to 2D TMDs 2023 Conference at the University of Cambridge. She will serve as a panelist to share her academic journey as a woman in science.

Dr. Han has been honored as the “Reviewer of the Year” for npj Computational Materials.

Congratulations to Chuqiao! Chuqiao received a 2023 M&M Student Scholar Award, for his paper entitled: “Semi-automated hierarchical clustering model for 4D-STEM datasets”.

Dr. Han has been selected for the 2022 MIT Technology Review, Innovators Under 35 (TR35), China list. Congratulations!
